Good news for providers and clinics who order bulk supplies for their CareOregon and CareOregon-affiliated CCO members. The temporary pause on the bulk order supply purchasing program that has been in place since Spring of 2023 is set to be lifted February 5, 2024.

Over the past couple months, CareOregon has identified the ability to bring the process in-house and we have fulfilled all the relevant backlogged requests that were outstanding. We continue to work hard on the fundamentals, processes and workflows to be able to bring this program back even better than before.

A bit of history

In spring 2023, Project Access Now (paNOW) informed CareOregon of the need to pause the receipt of bulk order supply purchase requests due to the high volume of requests being received. This notice specifically paused paNOW’s ability to purchase and send bulk items to clinics directly, which in turn caused a backlog of requested bulk items to purchase that were requested by partners.

Providers and clinics can still purchase eligible bulk items on their own and request reimbursement from CareOregon. Approval for reimbursement of bulk items distributed requires that items be provided to current CareOregon, Columbia Pacific CCO, Health Share of Oregon (behavioral or physical health enrollment) and Jackson Care Connect members.
