Jackson Care Connect helps OHA distribute air purifiers

To help people deal with air quality issues from wildfire smoke, the Oregon Legislature provided funding to help some Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members get air purifiers in select areas of the state in 2022, including Jackson County.

Jackson Care Connect is helping distribute the devices because some of our members will be eligible for free air purifiers.

Who is getting free air purifiers?

OHA is determining which members are eligible. There are a limited number of air purifiers available.

The criteria the OHA used to decide which members are eligible includes members who have chronic respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses, as well as members who may be part of groups who are more likely to get sick because of exposure to wildfire smoke.

These devices are limited to one per household.

How do I get my air purifier?

Members who are eligible will receive a call asking if they would like an air purifier. In most cases, your primary care clinic will reach out to you to schedule a time for you to get the device.

Those calls will be made this summer.

How can I learn more about this?

Members can call OHP Client Services at 800-273-0557.
