What is changing with Medicaid/OHP coverage in Jackson County

This is a time of change for Medicaid in Jackson County, and we know those changes have raised some questions in our community. Jackson Care Connect’s number one priority will continue to be supporting Medicaid members and our provider partners – at the highest level.

For any member who changes CCOs, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is ensuring continuity of care as outlined in their recent Providers Matter communication:

Starting January 1, 2020:

  • CCOs will honor all existing service authorizations (physical, oral, behavioral health and prescription drugs) from the member’s 2019 CCO for up to six months.
  • Members will be able to see their current primary care provider for up to 90 days.
  • Members will be able to see their current behavioral health provider for up to 180 days.

Members can call OHP at 877-647-0027 or visit for more information. They can also call Jackson Care Connect Customer Service at 855-722-8208 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) to get help with any questions.

What does this mean for your patients?

As you know, Jackson Care Connect is contracted with the Oregon Health Authority to manage care for Jackson County members. We were awarded a new five-year contract, beginning in 2020, to continue coordinating physical, behavioral and oral health in the Jackson County area.

  • We are committed to coordinating quality care for our members and to minimize any disruptions.
  • Jackson Care Connect contracts with all health care providers and behavioral health agencies in Jackson County, so JCC members can continue seeing their current providers.

What does this mean for you?

There are no barriers for providers to continue care for Medicaid members in Jackson County. Please continue to see patients as usual.

  • We are prepared to serve more members per month under our alternative payment models (APMs), as needed.
  • We have the capacity to increase our current membership, if necessary.

Member Choice

Any OHP member can change their CCO once a year, if they so choose. If your patient expresses interest in making a change, they can contact the OHP Call Center by phone at 800-273-0557 or online at

As a reminder, PrimaryHealth of Josephine CCO members received a letter from OHA informing them that they have been assigned to a new CCO as of January 1, 2020. If they wish to change from their assigned CCO, members should refer to the instructions in the letter they received.
